Registration

NOTE: Do not register for the June classes unless you will have time to complete the required online training prior to the first class session. Since the classes are being done over a single weekend, you should try to complete as much of the online material as possible before class because you will not have the usual week between classes to work on it. You will need to order your uniform by May 27 to get it in time for the on-field training on June 9; this is covered by the course fees, and ordering instructions are included in the online course.

Our hope is to be able to assign new officials to paid games on June 9 after the on-field training, but in order to do that you will need to have all other material completed by 9:00 a.m. on June 5.

Registration for 2012 is now open.

It is highly recommended that you register at least 1 full week before your first in-class session to give you time to complete the required work before the first class, and that you register at least 3 weeks before your scheduled on-field training session so you have time to order your equipment and receive it before that training.

Please use the information on training section of this website to determine the correct course for you (Level 1, Level 2, Level 1+2, or Level 1 Recert). Once you determine the correct course, go to the UMLOA Training Registration Site to register. You will need to pay with a credit card or via a PayPal account. If the name on the credit card or PayPal account is different from the person being registered, include that name in the "instructions to merchant" field. You will need a separate e-mail account for each person you are registering.

Do not register using this system if you are already a Level 2 official from a prior year.

Once you have registered, you will need to log in to the UMLOA online course system using the login and password you created (the registration site does not redirect you automatically). Once there, start following the directions given in the course. Do not attempt to log in to this website (www.umloa.org), as your login will not work here.

The system may force you to register with the same name as is on the credit card used to pay, even if you are paying for someone else. If this happens, log into your account and follow the directions on the Online Training FAQs page for changing your name in the online course system.

You will not pre-register for specific classroom or on-field sessions at this time; this registration system doesn't collect that data. However, figure out which sessions you intend to attend and mark them on your calendar now. There are a few rules:

  • Level 1—Class #1 must be taken prior to Level 1, Class #2
  • Level 1—Class #2,must be taken before the on-field training session
  • The Level 2 class must be taken after Level 1—Class #2 (but not necessarily after the on-field session)

There are online components that must be completed prior to each session; see your online course for more details. Note that the courses are still being built and added to, so keep checking back for new content.

[Note that all courses include registration for the Minnesota Swarm Youth Box League Officials Training; this is optional, but it is strongly encouraged for new and junior officials as it will allow you to start working games in March and early April with more experienced partners.]
